Why I choose to skate Riedell:
I have rolled in MANY differnt types and styles of skates durning my many years of rolling, and I have yet to find anything that even compares to the feel of Riedells. The light weight, perfect fit set up is perfect for ALL my skating loves: Jam Skating, Roller Derby, Skate Parks, and just cruisin'.

If you were stranded on island that luckily had a skating rink, other than your Riedell skates, what is one item that you would want to have with you?
My hula hoop! HAHAHA! I'm still learning how to do a lot of skaing moves with a hoop. but it's been a really fun challenge to integrate something new into my skating.

What motivates you to be the best skater you can be?
Being a coach, a supportive teammate, and a role model. I’m the luckiest athlete in world to be given the opportunities that I have. My humbling 11 year career as a WFTDA competitive skater primed me to pass the skills along as the coach of the Pittsburgh Junior Derby Bratz. This has been a rewarding experience. It’s helped me to learn more about what it is to be a role model and how I can give back to the skating community. I attend many dance skating events, derby games, open sessions, park skates, and other odd ball rolling events. Seeing all the talent out there has encouraged me to respect and try all aspects of skating. This past year I decided to start playing roller derby again for one big reason; I wanted to support Pittsburgh’s first ALL-GENDER team, The Pittsburgh Undead. My best self is when I can bridge the gap between the groups and be an encouraging rolling force for the sport.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
When you order a dish with shrimp and the tails are still on. Flavor savor or not, remove the shrimp tails!

Which 3 individuals, living or dead, would you like to eat dinner with the most?
Marianne Williamson (author, spiritual leader, and presidential candidate), Mitch Hedberg (comedian- although I’d be laughing too hard to get any food down), and Brene Brown (author, researcher, professor at the University of Houston)

If you could write a book about your life, what would the title be and why?
“This Is How I Roll” or “Eight Wheels, No Breaks”

At practice, what is one skating maneuver you are currently working on to get better at?
Roller Derby:  Not slowing down or hitting the breaks when hitting a pack full speed.
Jam, Rhythm, Soul, Dance Skating:  Foot work-calculated patterns and dances, rather than just improvising all the time.
Ramps/Bowls:  Continuing over a spine (transition point at the top of a ramp) and grind slides.
